It was smaller than it sounded like on the webpage, but then we figured out several of the activities were starting later in the day. We still had a good time and it kept the kids amused for a couple of hours. We got the kids dressed up in their costumes so Brian could see them. And when I say kids I mean Minna, unless you count the spider headband that Joshua commandeered from me. He screamed every time we tried to put on his pirate costume.
But he did like wielding his sword around.
Brian wore Minna in the Moby Wrap and then put a coat around them both so just her head was sticking out.
He got so many comments. While we were there he went into a bakery to buy some bread for a snack and one of the workers told all the other employees to come see the baby and all these employees flocked around Brian and Minna squealing and oohing and awwing. (They were all women). It was also funny hearing all the interpretations on her covered up costume. We heard horse, cow, koala bear, and two headed person. Love the Moby wrap.
Joshua had a blast too. They had pony rides so Joshua got to ride one.
He was a little nervous at first, but I think it was from the guy just putting a helmet on his head and putting him on the horse. Once we got going Joshua loved it. (I don't fault the guy though, because it didn't give Joshua a chance to think to hard about it, get scared, and freak out. The guy was just matter a fact about the whole thing).
There was also a petting zoo which involved the tamest rabbit I have ever seen and a couple of baby goats and a sheep. We then got Joshua a balloon, which was probably his favorite part.
Then we went home Brian went to work and the kids took gloriously long naps. Then we watched the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, because I loved watching that growing up. After that we headed to the church Trunk or Treat.
It was a little bit of a project going there with two kids, no Brian, and I brought bread and chili. Fortunately I have great friends that helped me get inside, my food squared away and helped with the kids.
Joshua was really excited to go trick or treating. Here he is about ready to go, still no costume.
He got stuck at like every car. He would be entranced by the lights, pumpkins, and decorations. He also tried to take the glowsticks that people had for decorations. He did start to figure it out and even asked for "more candy please".
Then he got to go back inside and enjoy the fruits of his labors.
