My sisters came to visit

So my sisters came to visit 2 1/2 months ago.  And now I am finally blogging about it.  Heather had never came out here before and Emily was coming one more time before she left on her mission.  It was kind of a crazy visit, quite a few plans were thrown off, but we still had a good time.

The day they came in, their plane was delayed several hours, so instead of getting in in the early evening, they landed at about 10:00 pm.  The problem was Brian was working mids, and I didn't want to take the kids out that late to pick them up.  Fortunately Brian's boss let him come in an hour late to get them.  So Heather and Emily were tired the next day, but the kids were super excited to see them. We went to the TreePaad.   Where they have this big ball fort.  It was a lot of fun.

That night it started to snow and they didn't plow the roads before Brian had to go to work and he ended up sliding into a telephone pole and totaling his car.  My sisters and I had planned to go to Montreal the next day and were all packed, but that changed our plans.  Fortunately having them there made it so I could go pick Brian up.  The roads were so bad it took me 20 minutes to get to a place 3 minutes away normally.  Brian was fine, but we were a little shook up.  So the next day we played in the snow.

Then Miriam got up from her nap and was as pretty as ever.

The next day we took them to a Maple Festival that was about an hour away.  The syrup was more expensive so we didn't buy any there, but we had a good time.  They had stations at several different farms.  First we had a pancake breakfast for lunch.  That was really yummy.  Then we went to a lady who did some crafts out of her home.  She showed us how to cut glass.  Then she helped the kids make some paper beads.  They did it on this drill and they spun wall paper with a needle on it.  The kid got to run the drill. 

Joshua was really nervous about hurting the lady, so he ran the drill really slow. Minna went second and ran the drill really fast.  Here are their beads.

Then we went to the goat farm. This was the best part.  There were goats and a few sheep everywhere.

We got to see the inside of this beautiful barn they were restoring. 

Then Emily said we should go over to the other side and check out the ponies.  We went over there and there were just these goats.

We were teasing Emily asking her why she thought the goats were ponies.  Then we went in the store to buy some goat cheese.  Yummy.  In the store they asked us if we had seen the ponies.  I asked them where they were, and the store lady said they were where Emily said they were.  So we went back out and we saw ponies.

Then we decided to go home when both kids fell in the wet ground which was also full of goat manure.  We went to the car and took off their pants and went home. 

Sunday we had church and we had Joshua take a couple pictures of us sisters.

Then Monday we thought we would go to the New York State Museum before I had to take my sisters to the airport.  Well I guess it is closed on Mondays, so we had to look for alternate plans.  I found out that no museums in the area are opened on Mondays.  We played inside for a while, but the kids were crazy so we went to the park.  It was freezing, so we didn't stay very long. 

Joshua played a lot of fireman.  Running around putting out fires.  Then all too soon it was time to take Emily and Heather back to the airport to fly home.  On the way home from dropping them off Joshua says to me, I wish there was 6 people in the van, because then Emily and Heather would be here too.  Hopefully they come back someday.
