Since our new temple is only 2 hours away from NYC we decide to make our trip take 2 days and go to the Bronx Zoo again. We drove 1 hour after the temple and stopped at a hotel for the night. We were going to swim, but they had an outdoor pool. The next day we drove the last hour to the zoo. With all our travels we managed to not have bad traffic. It was heavy when we were near the city, but never too bad.
It was a beautiful fall day at the zoo. And it was a school day, so it was almost empty. It was almost a perfect day at the zoo. These pictures are ones my sister took when they came in June. She takes much better pictures than me and she took a picture of basically everything in the zoo, so I didn't really take pictures myself. (Thanks Heather).
Miriam loved the elephant.
We spent a lot of time watching the giraffes. The big kids really like reading the information about the animals now. Its so nice when they learn how to read.
The only think I insisted on seeing was the baby gorillas.
Joshua liked the African Wild Dogs.
And Minna loved the tiger who was up and about.
We finished up the day watching the penguins and pelicans get fed. It was a very fun trip.
