Loving Fall in NY

I am starting to fall in love with fall in New York. The weather has turned into that wonderful jacket stage, where it is just comfortably cool. The leaves are starting to turn to beautiful yellows, bright reds, and vibrant oranges. Now that Joshua can walk I need to take him out to gather leaves or something.

Fall also means harvest time in New York especially for apples. Yesterday for playgroup we went to a cider mill. It wasn't running but the kids still had a good time. They had goats they could play with

And some water to play in. This was Joshua's favorite. He even fell in and once we pulled him out and he recovered he was diving right back to play with it. The place also had a bakery so we brought home fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts. Yum.

Today we went to an orchard and picked our own fruit. We picked 5 pounds of peaches and 5 pounds of apples and 1 pound of raspberries. Joshua had fun picking too. He picked an apple up off the ground and started eating it. Silly boy.

It was so hard to pick the raspberries and not eat them. It was especially torture for Joshua he kept grabbing at them. Brian had to hold him while we picked them so he wouldn't grab them off the trees. As soon as we payed we started cramming raspberries in our mouths. I love fresh fruit.

Then we went down and saw the animals. Joshua got to see more goats and giant horses, and he got to pet a friendly sheep and some friendly pigs. It has been a really fun middle of the week weekend with Brian.
