Learning about Boys and Girls

Warning if you are squeamish about boy and girl body parts skip the next post.

Since Miriam has been born Joshua has been learning or relearning the differences between boys and girls.

When he came to the hospital to visit Miriam and me, I needed to change her diaper.  He came over to watch, and when I took her diaper off he looked at her and declared, "She doesn't have a penis!".  I explained to him that she was a girl like Mommy and Minna.

The other day Joshua got out of the tub and looked at his nipples.  He then said that when he got big like mommy, his nipples would get bigger so he could feed babies too.  We then explained to him that, that was not going to happen, ever.
