Minna and her hat

My mom got Minna a pretty pink dress with a pink hat.

Friday on the spur of the moment we decided to go to the track to watch some races.  So we threw a few snacks together and grabbed the girls up from their naps to go.  Brian grabbed Minna and when he told her where we were going Minna asked to wear her hat.  It was "Fillies Day" at the track so Brian dressed her up in a less dressy pink dress and grabbed her track hat.  I donned a pink shirt because it got me into the track for free and Brian dressed Miriam in a pink dress too.

This is what Minna looked like.

And this is what the rest of the family looked like.  Miriam was asleep and totally covered up, Joshua in his sleeveless Thomas shirt and Brian and I were just in shorts.

The lady in front of us kept looking back at the kids.  I kept looking at them to see what they were doing, but they were being good.  After the first race it started raining so we were packing up to go undercover.  The lady who kept staring at the kids came over and told me we had a beautiful family and she couldn't stop looking at them.  (It wasn't a creepy thing, it was more her eyes were drawn towards them).  And the people behind us commented on our cute the family was too.  I am pretty sure Minna was the one picking us out of the scruffy family to the nice family.  Way to carry the family.

We stayed around to watch the next and final race of the day and then headed to go get dinner.  We have driven by a sign for the Wishing Well restaurant many times, so we thought we would try it out.  The sign we saw was one of the blue signs made by the state, so we figured it was a good family restaurant and the sign was to help people traveling through to find it.

So we get there and its Valet parking, that should have tipped us off, but it didn't.  We go inside and it is super nice and not a good place to take three rambunctious kids after going to the track.  I am pretty sure the only reason they let us in is because of Minna.  When we decided to leave saying it didn't look very kid friendly, nobody argued with us at all.  And the valet sprinted for the van.

We ended up finding a small pizzeria to eat at.  The food wasn't great, but it was enjoyable enough.  And the kids were happy because we made it to the races this year.
