My parents visiting

So a very long time ago (the end of September) my parents came to visit us. I am not totally responsible for the lateness of this post, my dad took the pictures and I only got the pictures a month ago. Okay so it is mostly my fault, but here is what we did.

The first day they were here was Sunday. Brian was working that day so it was wonderful to have extra hands with the kids. About 1/2 an hour into church Joshua and especially Minna decided that my dad was the best person EVER. My dad spoiled Minna silly and after they went home we had a few days of adjusting to following basic rules again.

Anyway Sunday was pretty quiet Joshua learned how to catch and throw a ball
and we did some major train track building.

The Monday was warm and gorgeous. We went to Moreau Lake. It was after the busy season so it was free. There was hardly anyone there so it was really peaceful.

There were signs all over saying we couldn't get in the water, but fortunately there was no one to enforce them because no one was keeping Minna out of the water.

Then of course I had to join her.

Joshua spent most of his time building a sand castle with Grandpa.

It turned out pretty good.

That night we went to our favorite local restaurant the Village Pizzeria. They have this great patio where you can eat outside and the kids can run around. It is also beautiful and our kids even ended up looking clean and cute.

On Tuesday we went apple picking at Saratoga Apple. The mosquitoes were terrible, but we were lucky enough to run into some friends in the ward who had brought bug spray. Brian and I did most of the picking.

We did also manage to buy tons of seconds and made some delicious applesauce that weekend. Minna fell asleep on the way home with a ducky as a pillow.
I took advantage of the warm days and got in a couple of rides on Red.
While I was riding my dad and Brian were finishing up the electric fence for Red. The kids got a chance to ride too.

On Wednesday Brian had to go back to work, but the rest of us went to Saratoga's Children's Museum. Joshua quite enjoyed the fire truck
, while Minna found a tea pot that she carried throughout the whole museum putting the lid on and off the whole time.

On Thursday we went to my parents hotel and utilized the swimming pool. Joshua found a lifesaving inner-tube and was actually willing to go off on his own as long as he was holding onto that. All summer long he has had a death grip on me when we went swimming, so I call it progress. Minna most enjoyed belly surfing thanks to grandpa. We did not get any pictures because of the water.

Sadly that was the last day they were here. But we had alot of fun.
