2015 Utah Trip, Part 1 Traveling and horses

We made our latest pilgrimage to Utah this past couple of weeks.  Brian got home from work around midnight, and we had to get up at 4:00 to catch our plane.  On the bright side we got into Utah by 11:00 a.m. and had the rest of the day for the kids to play, and for Brian and I to take a nap.  Miriam was a little overwhelmed by the airport, fortunately Minna was there to hold her hand.

The next day we had to ride horses of course.  It was super hot, so we didn't ride the horses as much or as long as we normally do.

Except for this horse, this horse got a lot of riding in.
Joshua rode Odie, the big old one.

Later when Joshua wanted to go faster, Emily was smart enough to hop on behind, instead of having someone try to run to lead Odie.

Minna rode Zoe.  She is new to my parent's place.
And Miriam rode Patchie.  Poor Patchie is 30 years old and her arthritis is getting worse.  This was probably the last ride my kids will have with her.  She is sweet in her old age though, and they had fun brushing her as well as riding her.

And since the temperature was over 100 degrees that day, and there is no shade by the arena we had ridden, and packed up by 10:00 a.m.
