Prematurity Awareness Day

Today is prematurity awareness day. Both of my kids were born premature. Joshua was born at 28 weeks gestation due to a placental abruption and now is an active 3 1/2 year old. You can read about his birth starting here.

Minna was born at 35 weeks due to who knows what. She is now a very opinionated 18 month old. Her birth story starts here. It was amazing to me how much of a difference the 7 weeks made Minna had a much easier time after coming home from the hospital than Joshua did.

I am grateful for the medical advances that have allowed both my kids to be healthy.
