Minna was rocking her patriotic sunglasses.
Miriam wore a shirt with a fire cracker on it, long enough to take this picture before she spit up all over it.
Good thing she is so cute anyway.
The parade was fun, it was no Utah parade, but the kids loved it.
Then we went to Congress Park to enjoy the festivities. Of course we had to stop and ride the carousel.
Then we checked out some of the booths they had up, then wandered around the local restaurants to sample the barbecue. Then we went home. It was my dad's birthday so I had made a cheesecake, and Brian made a syrup out of the blueberries we picked earlier that week. It was delicious. That evening the power went out, so my parents left early to go back to their air conditioned hotel room. The rest of us stayed at our house sweltering and calling National Grid every hour only to be told the electricity would come on in another hour. Finally Brian hooked up the generator to the fridge and a couple window units and we could sleep. Fortunately we did get power back that night.
